Pre-School

Our Pre-School department can accommodate 3-5's on a full-time and part-time basis.
This room is very child focus and the children are highly included in the planning and evaluating of activities through the use of floor books. A floorbook is a way for children to revisit their learning so they are getting in depth experience. Within this book the children draw picture of what they have learnt and also we fill little speech bubbles with any comments they make. Research shows children learn better when its activities they choose and enjoy doing. This is a philosophy we believe in greatly at Jumping Jacks. When it is nearing time to start school we do our up most to make this transaction as easy and stress free for the child as possible. This includes visiting the school with the child and taking lots of photos so we can continue to talk about how exciting it will be to go to school. We also encourage visits to nursery from the school teacher as well as incorporating school into role play scenarios and reading lots of books.
The Curriculum is made up of eight areas and each section has a variety
of early level outcomes.
The eight areas of the curriculum are:-
Expressive arts
Health and well-being
Literacy and English
Mathematics
Religious and moral education
Science
Social studies
Technologies
To help learning in each of these key areas our team plan activities and experiences to ensure that the children in our care receive the best quality of learning. When the team plan they take into account the children's individual skills as well as what they have to tackle as a group.
