Our Toddler Department welcomes children from 18 months to two years on a full and part-time basis.
This room is part of the 2-3 year class but is separated by a gate. This enables the children to become used to the busier environment downstairs but still have the security of a little room. Once they are more confident we open up the gate and they can begin to communicate and interact with the 2-3 year olds. Personalities and characters are flourishing at this stage and we aim to give children the support and encouragement they need!
This is the stage at which we start to think about potty training which is done in partnership with parents, and to help, a care plan will be agreed between home and nursery which will help the child have consistency regarding potty training which should make the whole process easier! Staff will be happy to provide advice and support during this time and parents are asked to provide numerous changes of clothes (especially pants) during this process.
